A cross-platform jailbreaking, unlocking, and customizing tool for iPhones and iPod touches. Customizations include boot logos, recovery logos, and 'verbose'. Download RedSn0w 0.9.12b2 For Windows & Mac OS X Last Updated: July 9th, 2012 iPhone-Dev Team has released Redsn0w 0.9.12b2 with a new rocky-racoon injection option and an iBooks bug fix.Earlier, this week Redsn0w 0.9.12b1 was released which enables users to install rocky-racoon in two different methods for A4 devices-backup/restore method.
- backup/restore method similar to Absinthe and cinject
- its traditional limera1n-based ramdisk install. If you have a lot of media on your A4 device (music, movies, TV shows, etc), then the ramdisk method is preferrred because it avoids any possibility of later problems related to syncing to iCloud (including Photo Stream and Music Match). The ramdisk method is not available for A5 devices or later because limera1n can’t be used. If you’d like to use redsn0w’s ramdisk method, just be sure to put the A4 device in DFU or Recovery mode before starting redsn0w (otherwise it will immediately start to use the backup/restore method).
Redsn0w 0.9.12b1 also brings a new features specifically for those who have got SAM unlock tickets saved. If you’ve unlocked your iPhone with SAM unlocking method and have saved the unlocking ticket, you can easily restore those tickets using Redsn0w 0.9.12b1:
We’ve also added a new redsn0w feature specifically for those who got in on the SAM unlock: you can now include your SAM tickets as part of your initial ramdisk jailbreak of iPhone4 or earlier, or alternatively you can upload your SAM tickets to any device after its been jailbroken. redsn0w accepts either the individual SAM activation ticket plist file, or the entire zip file created by redsn0w’s “Backup” button. As usual, redsn0w continues to cover all of its previous jailbreaks and untethers (so redsn0w-0.9.12b1 covers everything from 5.1.1 all the way back to 4.1).
Redsn0w 0.9.12b2 Supports:
- iOS 5.1.1 – iOS 4.1
- iPhone 4S, the New iPad 3, iPad 2 (backup/restore method)
- iPhone 4, iPhone 3GS, iPod Touch 4G/3G, iPad 1 (both backup/restore method and limera1n-based ramdisk install)

Update #1: Starting with version 0.9.12b2, redsn0w will now explicitly ask users with limera1n-able devices whether they want to inject rocky-racoon using the DFU ramdisk method or the backup/restore method (the ramdisk method is better for those with lots of media on their device that would create very large backups, and it’s required for those with unactivated iPhones). If you’ll always want to use limera1n, you can select that in the Preferences pane. It also fixes an iBooks issue on old-bootrom 3GS iPhones, and provides more useful error messages when things go wrong.

Few days back Musclenerd had tweeted announcing about the new major release of Redsn0w which has been completely reworked and will add many new features. It was said that the new version of Redsn0w will be release today. Fulfilling iPhone Dev Team has released Redsn0w 0.9.9.b1 for Windows & Mac OS X.
Major improvements and features added to redsn0w 0.9.9b1! See update #9 at http://t.co/jasD51hf Feedback: @redsn0w_testersHere is list of complete features
1. Uses DFU mode to try to automatically determine which device and FW you have
2. Fetches pieces of public IPSWs from Apple (once). Non-public IPSWs must be provided manually (once). It then caches those pieces for future use.
3. “Just boot” is a tethered boot. Uses whatever “Preferences” you’ve set for boot logo and kernel boot-args
4. “Pwned DFU” puts your device in a pwned DFU state for some of the iTunes stuff detailed below
5. “Recovery fix” gets past 1015 types of errors (when baseband portion of restore fails). Should work on iOS5 beta too
6. “Select IPSW” is for picking non-public IPSWs, or overriding auto-detection
7. “SHSH blobs” has a bunch of options…
8. “Fetch” – fetch current PARTIAL blobs on device. Should complete in under 10 or 15 seconds. Puts the set of PARTIAL of blobs on your computer as a plist. Checks if Cydia already has a full set for this device and build. If not, it submits this PARTIAL set and returns Cydia’s acknowledgement or rejection
9. “Verify” – cryptographically verifies existing blob files from either redsn0w, TinyUmbrella, or Cydia server. You can select a whole bunch of blobs to verify at once if you want (like the TinyUmbrella directory)
10. “Submit” – both verifies and submits one or more blob files to Cydia. This lets you copy your entire TinyUmbrella cache of blobs up to the Cydia server
11. “Query” – queries the Cydia server for all available FULL or PARTIAL blobs for a given set of ECIDs
Redsn0w 0.9 12b1 Download Machine
12. “Stitch” – stitches either FULL or PARTIAL blobs to a STOCK or CUSTOM IPSW
13. FULL blobs stitched to a STOCK IPSW gives you a completely self-contained signed IPSW that iTunes will accept without any tricks (no need to go into pwned DFU mode, no need to start TinyUmbrella TSS server, no need to redirect to Cydia server for blobs)
Redsn0w 0.9 12b1 Download Mac Os
14. PARTIAL blobs stitched to any IPSW requires you to go into pwned DFU mode before running iTunes. No need to start TU or use Cydia though.
15. Stitching either FULL or PARTIAL blobs to a CUSTOM IPSW also requires a pwned DFU start before iTunes restores. No need to start TU or use Cydia though.
16. Stitching is NOT yet supported on iPhones! Need to work out the baseband part of the restore process.
Redsn0w 0.9 12b1 Download Macros
17. Will eventually support fetching the blobs directly from Cydia instead of a file on your computer
